Da Hong Pao Oolong Tea

Thanks for contacting us. We'll get back to you as soon as possible.

Often called Big Red Robe, Chinese Da Hong Pao is a roasted oolong from the Wuyi Mountains in Fujian province. These big, brown, wiry leaves have smoky, mineral notes with big, rich flavor. Big Red Robe is a great example of what semi-oxidation looks like. This tea grows defiantly between gaps in rocks, and the stress results in a very mineral-rich, green flavor. You'll note wet stone, cooked vegetables and subtle ripe peach when you sip. This is one for the oolong enthusiast.

Oolongs fall into their own category. While they're often lumped with Green Teas, their semi-oxidized state places them between a black and green tea. This level of semi oxidation means high antioxidant levels. Teas high in antioxidants are linked to positive health outcomes. Oolongs are also a source of nutrients including magnesium, Manganese, potassium, calcium, the vitamins C and K and the amino acid theanine, all in trace amounts.

Oolong Tea. Moderate caffeine. Steep 1 heaping Tbl 5-7 mins.
